WHERE ARE THEY BITING?
Lakes Entrance:
Trevally are still biting off the jetties. Flathead and Salmon are biting between Nungurner and Nyerimilang Park. Pilchard and soft plastics are accounting for most fish. Lake Tyers: Bream and the “odd flathead” are biting on peeled prawn and “squidgees” The surf is producing Tailor and Salmon during high tide.Mitchell River: Bream are biting around the mouth on sandworm, prawns and “vibes” The “Backwater” has Flathead taking soft plastics and prawn.
Tambo River:
Flathead and Bream are biting at sunset mainly around the mouth. Prawn, whitebait and sandworm are best baits. Nicholson: Flathead are biting around “The Tyres” with Bream at the mouth. Prawn and soft plastics are best baits. Metung: Large Bream are biting off the jetties and Shaving Point using fresh crab. Flathead are biting in the Bay and Backbeach Jetty on prawn, whitebait and soft plastics.

WHAT'S ON AROUND TOWN THIS MONTH!
Lakes Entrance Female Fishing Classic
Friday 19 to Saturday 20 February - Lakes Entrance will come alive with families from all over, for the inaugural Female Fishing Competition. There will be a variety of trophies and prizes up for grabs for all contestants. The rest of the family hasn't been forgotten, with a BBQ on Friday night, at the Gippsland Angling Club, Bullock Island, and on Saturday night, a 2 course dinner, presentation of trophies and entertainment at the Lakes Entrance Sports and Community Club. Local band Impact will rock the night away.
Canni Creek Picnic Horse Races
Saturday 6 February - Buchan Racecourse The Buchan & Gelantipy Racing Club are celebrating the 119th Year of the Canni Creek Picnic Horse Races. Six trophy races and $6000 in prize money. Includes Footballers Gift, Auction, A host of Attractions, Fashions on the field and Prizes and Novelties Galore. Enjoy great holiday entertainment with family and friends.

Bruthen Blues and Arts Festival
Friday 19 to Sunday 21February - Come along and enjoy all the festivities, kids activities, great music performances and market stalls around the township of Bruthen over this exciting weekend. LOCATION: Bruthen Township
Bairnsdale Moto Expo
Friday 19 to Sunday 21 February - Bairnsdale Moto Expo is a car show for all the family with a huge variety of displays from street machines to special interest vehicles, restored vehicles and classics. Displays will also include motor bikes from vintage to modern, chopper to bobber, boats, go-carts, model planes and other hobbies. Other activities over the weekend will include music and dance displays by local artists, drag racing and a rock and roll night. There will also be side shows such as dodgem cars and a bouncy castle. There will be something for everyone, even a swap meet and market stalls. This event is an annual community fundraising event. This years project is an All-abilities Playground at Bairnsdale.

Drag Racing 'Summer Heats Up' Jets are Back
Saturday 20 to Sunday 21February - Gates Open 1pm. -- Scrutineering: 1.30 - 4.30pm -- Qualifying: 2.00 - 5.30pm -- Racing: 6.15pm -- Burnouts: 9.00pm -- Competitors welcome... THINGS TO SEE AND DO
Our park and the local area have so many different things for you to enjoy. Within the park you are more than welcome to borrow free of charge any of our DVD movies, board games or our Bocce set, although this is free a $20 deposit is required. The local attractions include lake cruises, golf, winery tours, fishing and a lot more. Ask one of our office staff for some suggestions or grab an “Attraction Guide” from the office.
