There is so many
things to see and do while you’re in Lakes Entrance.
Below is a list of the local attractions which may take
your fancy.
Fishing Lakes
Fishing Calendar to go here next to text
Renown for Australia’s biggest fishing port, Lakes
Entrance is the fishing capital of Australia. Whether
you prefer fishing lakes, rivers or ocean, you’ll
be sure to catch something here, just ask any keen angler.
The man-made entrance allows the ocean to mingle with
the lakes and provides a safe harbour for reputedly the
largest fishing fleet in Australia. Catch your own fish
for tea or try one of the local wines along with your
‘catch of the day’.
Bushwalking
If your cup of tea is bushwalking, then you have plenty
of choices in Lakes Entrance.
Lake Tyers Forest Park
Tall eucalypt forests surround the northern shores of
Lake Tyers in Lake Tyers Forest Park. A thin sand spit
divides the lake from the ocean.

reserve covering 17,584 hectares along a portion of
the Ninety Mile Beach, from Seaspray to Lakes Entrance.
